Actually they drop your wages to minimum wage and pay you overtime at that wage. I make $10.50 per hour. And I consistently work 99 hours every two weeks. On any portion over 88 hours I get paid $12.38 per hour. They do not add the overtime portion to your normal wage. For those hours over 44, you are payed minimum wage plus over time.
And to add to the fun. If you are making over $12.38 per hour, they don't have to pay you over time! Because if they did, you would be making less than your normal hourly wage!
