Cool Topic: Almost locked in at Nubody's!

Almost locked in at Nubody's!

Just thought I would share this, it's not a complaint, just a funny story mostly. Last Saturday I was at Nubodys, who inconsiderately close at 8 on Sat/Sun. Boy, SO not Vancouver, out there I had a membership to a chain that had overnight gyms. I went in at 7, planning on a 30 minute workout, 5 minute shower, and the rest of the time to dry off and dress. The place was nearly deserted, one other woman and one man working out. I was right on schedule, at 7:50 I was almost dressed and about to go dry my hair when all of a sudden the place is plunged into complete darkness.I know it was 7:50 because I was watching their clock like a hawk to make sure I wasn't keeping staff late. I started yelling HELLO HELLO at the top of my lungs, no one answered. For those familiar with the layout, there are two changing areas with lockers, one by the door and one further in. As luck would have it I was in the inner bank of lockers. I started heading for the faint light coming around the corner, smashing into the bench and the wall. All the lights were off, the only light was from the desk area way out front that they leave on all night for security reasons, and the vending machines. I must've screamed HELLO about 8 more times and finally someone turned the lights back on. The girl said "Oh sorry, I didn't know there was anyone still here. Were you in the shower? I didn't check there." Sigh. I had mental pictures of me calling 911: Help! I'm locked in! That would have made a good story for the police, rescuing a size 28 chick FROM the gym.

The moral of the story is, if you have only THREE people in your place of business at 7:30, try and keep track of where they went and if they left. And I've learned my lesson, next time I'm planning on being there near close, I'll SING in the shower. Loudly. Off-key. Maybe "This is the song that doesn't end...." .
